Transmission of identification data on communication lines

The signal lines (4) provided for transmitting the identity of connectivity box (1) to the mobile operator panel (2) are separated from the permanently installed infrastructure (3) and are connected to a control logic. The identity transmission takes place through the connection established between signal line and operator panel, when operating voltages of both connectivity box and mobile device are ON. The control logic is arranged in the connectivity box. A secondary signal line transmits handshake protocol and a physical line implements the signal lines. A timing signal on the secondary signal line controls the transmission of identity. The connectivity box has mechanism such as rotary coding switch, an engineering environment for setting identity. An independent claim is also included for method for connecting mobile operator panel to automation system.
