<p>In a lance for introducing a (preferably gaseous) medium into a liquid metal, comprising a tubular body through which the medium is guided into the metal, enclosed in refractory material (8) provided with reinforcement (1), the tubular body is not part of the load-bearing construction of the lance. An independent claim is included for the production of a lance of this type, where the tubular body is formed by casting the refractory material in an opening through a holder (not bonded to the reinforcement) having at least sufficient stability to withstand the forces created during casting.</p> |
