The valve for sanitary fittings has a valve seat disc (2) and a control disc (3) movable in relation to it. At least one component for flow noise reduction is installed in an overflow passage (30) in the control disc and is in the form of rods (4) located a small distance away from the valve seat disc. The rods are orientated parallel to the slide face of the valve seat disc and radially in the overflow passage. In the region of the wall of the overflow passage the rods have a section bent by 90 degrees by which they are fastened.
