<p>The device has a polarization separator (2) to selectively transmit a part of radiation of wavelength (lambda 2) towards one of outputs (S1, S2) according to polarization of radiation by polarization components (s, p). A polarization variation system (1) is disposed in the upstream of the separator with respect to propagation direction of radiation within the device. A return mirror (3) is placed between the system and the output (S2). The polarization variation system (1) has a half-wave plate sized for the wavelength (lambda 2) and oriented around an axis perpendicular to the plate, or a Pockel cell connected to a variable voltage source. The system and the polarization separator are disposed between an input (E) and the output (S1). The return mirror (3) is arranged between the system and the output (S2) such that the emerging directions of radiation through the outputs (S1, S2) are parallel to each other.
