Vibrator for a portable device

The vibrator (1) has an oscillating mass with a magnetic structure having a pole part. The part is positioned with respect to portions of a flat coil (2) such that magnetic field produced by permanent magnets is directed to the part output in a direction parallel to an axis of the coil so as to oscillate the mass in a direction perpendicular to the axis, when the coil is supplied by alternating electrical signals at a preset frequency. An independent claim is also included for a wrist watch being a portable object and comprising a vibrator.
