Optoelectronic device has two sensor units (2a, 2b) arranged at a distance from each other. Both sensors have transmitters (6, 6') and receivers (7, 7') for sending and receiving light beams (8, 8'). Thus an optical transmission path is formed. The amount of light received by the second unit (2b) is measured and transmitted via its transmission beam (8'). The first unit (2a) has a display (10a) that indicates the amount of light received by the second unit from the first.
