The furniture has a mattress frame adjusted opposite a base frame by a set of servo drives (13, 14) equipped with a drive motor in a reference position. The drives are controlled by a control unit or a manual control switch. Signal generators (20, 21) are simultaneously controlled in the position of the mattress frame with respect to the base frame. The drives are switched-on when a variation with respect to the position is detected.
