An aircraft gas turbine power plant has a gas seal arrangement that lowers compressor load and increases the turbine stage load. The motor has a compressor (1) stage high pressure shaft (2) sealed against a compressor air a low pressure chamber (8) and the high air pressure chamber (9). The respective pressures are adjustable within given ranges.
