Energy generating apparatus (10) comprises a plurality of piles (12,13) embedded in seabed (14), with one pile (12) including a monopole support member (16). The support member (16) supports a wind turbine (18) with a rotor (20). A rigid structure (22) is anchored to the seabed (14) by the piles (12,13) and braces the pile (12) and its support member (16) in a location (24) above sea level. A method for the construction of the apparatus is also disclosed. |
