1,241,954. Creels. JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd. 9 Sept., 1968 [25 Sept., 1967], No. 43591/67. Headings D1J and D1M. Bobbins 6 are mounted for rotation by placing them in dishes 8 on spindles 10. An inflatable tube 14 surmounted by a strip 21 of braking material extends under all the dishes 8 in each row on the creel. The tubes are normally deflated, but when the warper that is drawing the yarns from the bobbin is stopped (e.g. by a yarn breakage detector) the tubes are inflated to bring the bobbins to rest. The air supply system may include a pressure-operated switch acting if the air supply fails, so as to stop the machine whilst there is still sufficient air in an accumulator to inflate the braking tubes. Conversely, the inflatable tubes may lie under the ends of the spindles and may be normally inflated to lift the dishes 8 off the braking strip 8.
|
