MULTIPLE LIGATING BAND DISPENSER

Apparatus for dispensing a plurality of ligating bands (30-35) individually and sequentially. A support, attached to the distal end (23) of an endoscope (21), carries the plurality of ligating bands at axiall y spaced positions along an exterior surface. The distal ends (40d-45d) of each set of independent displacement filaments (40-45) of each ligating band releasably attach to the distal edge (29) of the dispenser. Each filament loops around the corresponding ligating band and re turns past the distal edge of the dispenser and through the endoscope to the proximal end thereof. When a physician pulls a set of filam ents (40p-45p) proximally, the loop in each filament adv ances the corresponding ligating band off the distal edge of the dispenser.
