FIELD: petroleum chemistry, chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dehydrogenation of isoamylenes to isoprene on iron oxide self-regenerating catalysts. Method involves addition of piperylenes in the concentration up to 4 wt.-% representing a by-side product in manufacturing process of isoprene by the indicated method to the parent isoamylenes before their dehydrogenation.
