Granulated compound feedstuff

High-energy feedstuff for poultry comprises cereals, protein sources, vitamins, antibiotics, mineral substances and in addition 3-15% of a fat and 0.5-5.0% by wt. of a finely divided silicic acid produced synthetically by pyrolysis or precipitation. The fat and silicic acid are added in the form of a powdered mixture containing 60-90% of fat and 10-40% of silicic acid. By this method, a large proportion of fat can be incorporated into granulated compound feedstuff without affecting the strength of the granules and their free-flowing properties.
