Heat treatment oven for metal objects has a heating chamber, ante-chambers opposite each other near the heating chamber having parallel longitudinal axes forming a feeding and a cooling station to and from which the objects are transported through a device which alternately seals the antechambers and a device which alternately operates sealing devices. During cooling and feeding the workpieces to the heating chamber, one antechamber is sealed and another antechamber is brought into contact with the heating chamber, so that the workpieces can be passed for heat treatment.
