DIELECTRIC BARRIER DISCHARGE LAMP HAVING A SLEEVE

The lamp has an electrode (4) fitted to an outside of a discharge vessel (9) along the longitudinal extent of the discharge vessel. The electrode is fitted to the discharge vessel by an interlocking connection with a sleeve (10) surrounding the electrode. The sleeve partially surrounds the circumference of the discharge vessel perpendicular to the longitudinal extent and leaves an aperture free for light radiation purposes. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an illumination system having a dielectric barrier discharge lamp (B) a method for producing a dielectric barrier discharge lamp (C) use of a discharge lamp as a UV radiator for the purpose of illuminating a catalyst.
