This invention is to provide a cutting member and a mirror finishing device equipped with it capable of suppressing the stagnation, biting, and scattering of the cutting chips generated in cutting a work piece. The mirror finishing device is equipped with a rotating shaft, an approximately round milling cutter attached to the front side of the rotating shaft, a recessed part enclosing the side surface of the milling cutter, and a hood opening in the front side of the milling cutter. The origin point O is located at the center of the approximately round cross-sectional recessed part, and the axis center S of the rotating shaft is positioned at the fourth quadrant in the XY rectangular coordinate system where the milling cutter moving direction relative to the work piece is set to be in the positive X direction. The angle &dgr; formed by the straight line connecting the origin point O with the axis center S and the positive X-axis ranges from 0 to 90 DEG, and the suction duct is positioned at the third quadrant. |
