A process for decorating, dyeing or printing articles comprises applying to a support at least one dyestuff, resist or discharge agent, mordant, fluorescent or phosphorescent product adapted to be transferred on to the article, applying the support thus treated against the article to be decorated, dyed or printed and subjecting the support and article to pressure at an elevated temperature and in humid conditions whereby transfer is effected without the aid of a binder for retaining the product or agent on the article. The article may be a fleece or web of non-woven fibres, thread or yarn. woven or knitted fabric or lace or article of clothing, paper, wood, leather, rubber or natural or synthetic resin. The support may be a sheet of paper, metallic sheet, or a fibrous web. Silk, wool, polyamides polyacrylonitriles, polyurethanes, polyesters and cellulose acetates may be treated with acid, basic, disperse and reactive dyes.</p> |
