PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically execute reset operation by using a link pulse passing through a network. SOLUTION: When the link pulse emitted from a communication device such as a hub and a router through the network is received, a counter 15 counts up. Before the count number reaches a predetermined number, a CPU 12 outputs a clear signal to the counter 15 for making the counter 15 clear. When the CPU 12 is in an abnormal condition, the clear signal is not outputted. When the count number exceeds the predetermined number, a reset signal is outputted to a power supply circuit 16.
