PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method to give a thiol compound having high purity and decreased discoloration. SOLUTION: The method for purifying a thiol compound comprises the addition of a basic solution to form a thiol salt in the purification of a thiol compound, and the addition of a purification solvent to crystallize the salt and remove impurities and/or discoloring materials.
