PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion which is improved in shelf life, adhesiveness, and physical properties. SOLUTION: The invention relates to a novel hindered alkoxysiloxane compound and a composition containing the hindered alkoxysiloxane compound. The emulsion of a latex sealant is prepared by emulifying the components of a composition and mixing with another emulsion containing a proper catalyst, wherein the composition comprises the hindered alkoxysiloxane compound to contain a polymer/crosslinker base which is comprised of a self-crosslinkable resin containing a silicone liquid modified with a hanging or terminal silane having a hindered alkoxy group, or a silanol liquid and a crosslinking compound, or a mixture thereof, The emulsion is dried to crosslink.
