<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for erasing an image printed on a recording medium such as a paper, and capable of reducing the visibility of the image. <P>SOLUTION: The image formed by image forming material containing coloration compound, developer and binder resin is partly peeled off, and then, the peeled image is erased by heating.
