PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for run-flat tire that has both of low heat build-up and high hardness and can improve the permanency of the run-flat tire and to provide run-flat tire therefrom. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for run-flat tire comprises 100 pts.wt. of rubber components, 10 to 100 pts.wt. of carbon black, 3 pts.wt or more of a compound represented by general formula: -(R-S<SB>x</SB>)<SB>n</SB>- (wherein R is (CH<SB>2</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>-O)<SB>m</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>; x is an integer of 3 to 6, n is an integer of 10 to 400, m is an integer of 2 to 5) and a run-flat tire having a reinforcing layer comprising the resin composition.
