PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a plurality of switches from simultaneously becoming an on state in a control period of time for changing over application and non application of a drive signal. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection apparatus has a piezoelectric element 417 which can carry out the operation for making ink ejected, a drive signal generating part 70 which generates a first drive signal COM_A and a second drive signal COM_B, a first switch 86A which controls application of the first drive signal COM_A to the piezoelectric element 417, a second switch 86B which controls application of the second drive signal COM_B to the piezoelectric element 417, and a controller (preventing circuit 85) which forcibly makes the first switch 86A an off state for a predetermined period of time in a period (period t12) from the generation end of a unit signal (driving pulse PS1) possessed by the first drive signal COM_A to the generation start of a next unit signal (driving pulse PS2).
