PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power series type predistorter having a distortion generator and a predistortion method, which generate a signal obtained by reducing lower signals than a (2k-1)th-order signal and a linear signal from the (2k-1)th-order signal in a (2k-1)th-order distortion generation path. SOLUTION: The predistorter includes: a distributor for distributing an input signal to a linear transmission path and the distortion generation path; a (2k-1)th-order distortion generator for generating a distortion component by raising the distributed signal to the (2k-1)th power in the distortion generation path; a vector adjuster for adjusting the amplitude and phase of an output of the (2k-1)th-order distortion generator; and an adder for adding an output of the vector adjuster and an output of the linear transmission path to output a predistorted signal r(t). The (2k-1)th-order distortion generator comprises: a (2k-1) multiplier (27B4, 27B3, 27B2, and 27B1) for raising the distributed signal to (2k-1)th power; a (2k-3) multiplier (27B3, 27B2, and 27B1) for raising the distributed signal to (2k-3)th power; a vector adjuster (27C3, 27C2, and 27C1) for adjusting the amplitude and phase of the output of the (2k-3) multiplier; and an adder (27D) for adding the output of the vector adjuster and the output of the (2k-1) multiplier.
