The device has a heat source (2) with an electrical consumer, which is arranged in a passenger area of a motor vehicle. A flow channel (2a) moves the air and is brought in thermal contact with the heat source. The air is exhausted by a blower which is arranged downstream with respect to the heat source. A suction pipe (3) for exhausting of the air from the heat source is connected with the blower. An independent claim is also included for an air conditioning system of a motor vehicle having a device for cooling a heat source of the motor vehicle.
