The burner has a facility whereby the mixture for combustion flows around a component (1) which at the front end with regard to the direction of flow is formed in a flow-conducive manner so that the flow is initially formed in a laminar fashion. The aforesaid component further along in the flow direction is formed so that the flow breaks away so that a turbulence is created which is the basis for flame forming.
