<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonlinear reproduction control method and its apparatus for a multimedia data stream which skips to a desired place, by utilizing the structural/meaningful information of multimedia contents in a video/audio program. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a step of skipping the multimedia contents up to a plurality of position informations, corresponding to the structural/meaningful information of the multimedia contents, a step of storing positional information, a step of reproducing the multimedia contents, a step of inputting a skip command for skipping the multimedia contents from the user, and a step of reproducing the multimedia contents from a location relevant to a next positional information on the multimedia contents by the input skip command. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
