<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data coupling apparatus in which a plurality of compressed image data are coupled to produce one image. <P>SOLUTION: The image data coupling apparatus comprises: a data reading circuit 21 for reading original image data sequentially for the unit of a block of a predetermined size; an identifier replacing circuit 22 for replacing a termination identifier (termination marker EOI) included in a block of the original image data, other than a block of the original image data that becomes a termination of coupled image data, with an identifier (restart marker RST7) indicating the block is not the termination and outputting the block; and a data writing circuit 23 for writing the block outputted from the identifier replacing circuit 22 out to a storage device.
