PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner allowing realization of miniaturization of main body casing size by reducing a duct space of a main body casing, and to prevent reduction of workability in production work and installation work of the indoor unit for the air conditioner accompanying the miniaturization realization. SOLUTION: When all of refrigerant pipes 31, ventilation ducts 32 and a connection wiring line 33 are lead out from the vicinity of one end part of both side end parts of the main casing 10 of the indoor unit 1, a heat exchanger 16, a ventilation fan 17 and an electric equipment box 18 are disposed such that at most two of them pass through the duct space 21. A connection terminal connecting the connection wiring line 33 is provided near each of both the side end parts of the main body casing 10.
