PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a length-controllable slide stay, smoothly controlling the length, preventing a fixed stay and a movable stay from being shifted due to the weight of various kinds of supported devices in the operating state, and stably supporting another member. SOLUTION: Channel-like side wall plates 42a, 42b and a front wall plate 42c constituting the movable stay 42 are slidably fitted to a cylindrical part 41a constituting the fixed stay 41. A pair of right and left sliding rails 42d, 42e brought into sliding contact with the outer surface of a front wall plate 41g of the fixed stay 41 are integrally formed on the back of the front wall plate 42c. A fastening bolt 43 is passed from a slit 42f formed in the movable stay 42 through an insert hole 41n formed in the fixed stay 41 and engaged with a nut 44 to fasten and fix the fixed stay 41 and the movable stay 42 to each other.
