PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing-adjusting device capable of highly accurately performing automatic focusing, in a short time. SOLUTION: The focusing-adjusting device 1 adjusts lens position, based on data about a distance measured by a distance measuring device 5. The focusing adjusting device 1 includes an imager 3 for inputting incident light and outputting sensor data; an image processing section 4 for image-processing the sensor data and outputting the value of the luminance of the periphery of a subject; and a control circuit 8 for setting, according to the measured luminance of the periphery of the subject 10, at least either N the number the times that the distance measuring device 5 measures distance and a threshold value S for determining whether the distance data of the distance measuring device 5 is effective data.
