PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift unit for a transmission, applicable to both an automatic transmission and a manual transmission with partial recombination, having reduced manufacturing cost by using parts in common. SOLUTION: In a housing portion 21 formed integrally with an automatic transmission body 1, the gear shift unit 2 which has a drive mechanism 29 is mounted on a power shift mechanism 25 can be incorporated.
