PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductor secured in coil positioning precision and a method for manufacturing the inductor. SOLUTION: This inductor comprises a magnetic core made by integrating first and second parts, a coil 4 contained in the magnetic core, and an external terminal. The external terminal is formed in a way that the end of the coil 4 is extruded outside the magnetic core. The first part is a dust core whose projection engaged with the inner diameter of the coil is placed on a plate, and the leading edge of the projection is preparatorily molded in a conic trapezoidal form prior to inductor integral molding.
