PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pallet which is excellent in lightness and damping performance, free from fears of rusting and oil staining, dispenses with machining and minute adjustment, and exerts uniform accuracy, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The pallet for a machine tool is manufactured by pouring polymer concrete in a fluid state from material introduction ports 10a, 11a into a molding space P of a pallet main body formed in the interior of a mold 1, and then hardening the polymer concrete. Herein in the molding space P of the mold 1, a lower mold 3 functions to hold a plurality of female screw insert members 19 on its upper surface (inner surface) 3a in a manner facing an aperture of a screw hole of each insert member to the outside of the molding space P, and an upper mold 10 functions to hold a plurality of cone locators (positioning hole insert members) 27 in a manner facing an aperture of a taper hole (positioning hole) of each cone locator to the outside of the molding space P, by connecting each cone locator to a positioning cone (positioning member) fixed to a cone locator base (positioning member mounting plate) 11.
