1,099,179. Controlling burners. METAALWARENFABRIEK JOH.TH BENRAAD N.V. July 26, 1966 [Aug. 5, 1965], No. 33597/66. Heading F4T. In a control arrangement for a gas stove having a number of burners ignited by means of a single pilot burner 16 supplied with gas through a thermally protected main valve 12 the pilot flame co-operates with a first burner 20 which ignites the remaining burners and operates a thermo couple 21 controlling valve 12. When a button 1 is pressed a lever 3 connected to an electric ignition apparatus is operated through a rod 2 and a rod 5 depresses, through a spring 6, against a weaker spring 7 a valve stem 8 to close a valve 11 and a further depression to open valve 12 and allow gas to flow to pilot burner 16 and to cause a spark at plug 17 to ignite the pilot burner. Button 18 is now depressed to open a valve 19 and supply gas to the burner 20 which ignites and heats the thermocouple 21 and thus energizes an electromagnet 22 to maintain the valve 12 open, button 1 being now released. The valve 19 is kept open by a catch 24. Other burners 28, 32 may now be ignited as desired by pressing the buttons 25, 29. |
