WATER-BASED INK FOR INK-JET RECORDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink for ink-jet recording having excellent dispersion stability, high printing density on plain paper and suppressed color bleed and to provide a method for producing the water-based ink.

SOLUTION: The water-based ink for ink-jet recording comprises a water-insoluble vinyl polymer containing a colorant. The water-insoluble vinyl polymer has a constituent unit derived from an acrylate or a methacrylate containing an arylalkyl group or an aryl group and the content of the acrylate or methacrylate in the water-based ink is ≤500 wt. ppm. The method for producing the water-based ink is provided.
