PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for easily manufacturing a column and a bed of a machine tool in a short period, by forming an assembling structure of a sheet metal member. SOLUTION: A column body of the machine tool is constituted by installing a side surface cover 140 by combining a front member 110 and a rear member 130. The inside is reinforced by a plurality of ribs 150 and 160. Respective members are made of a sheet metal material by precision laser processing.
