PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize device statistics in a POS system. SOLUTION: A POS terminal apparatus 1 and a printer 2 are provided. The printer 2 is provided with a maintenance counter 21 which counts a usage amount in response to usage of the printer 2 and storing a count value by itself. The POS terminal apparatus 1 is provided with a difference file 173 for obtaining difference information with the count value of the maintenance counter 21 in response to a reset or update request from an application (AP) 11 and storing it, and a device manager 13 for acquiring the count value from the printer 2. The device manager 13 further acquires the count value from the maintenance counter 21 in response to an inquiry request from the AP 11, calculates by applying the difference information on the acquired count value, and returns a calculation result to the AP 11.
