PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting device capable of counting the number of steps of a counting object, or the like with great precision. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises an average waveform calculating part 11 for calculating an average waveform of an acceleration waveform outputted by an acceleration sensor 20, a difference calculating part 12 for calculating a difference between the acceleration waveform outputted by the acceleration sensor 20 and the average waveform calculated by the average waveform calculating part 11 at predetermined intervals, a change specifying part 13 for sequentially specifying a change of signs, two at a time, of each difference calculated by the difference calculating part 12, and a counting part 14 for counting the number specified by the change specifying part 13.
