PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform heat insulation by a simple method in refractory brick for steel making preheated before use such as an immersion nozzle, a long nozzle and a stopper in such a manner that, in a meanwhile after preheating to its contact with molten steel, the preheating temperature till then is not lowered. SOLUTION: In the refractory brick 1 for steel making preheated before use of such as an immersion nozzle, a long nozzle and a stopper, a combustion gas is introduced into a space formed between the outer circumferential face of the refractory brick 1 and an outer tube 3 arranged at the outer circumference of the refractory brick 1 by a burner 9 in a meanwhile after preheating to its contact with molten steel, thus the lowering in the preheating temperature of the refractory brick 1 is suppressed, and its heat insulation property is improved.
