<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with which the miniaturization of the apparatus is made possible and assembly is made easy even if a transfer belt 10 is arranged to incline and a scanning optical device 300 is arranged below the transfer belt 10. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having a photoreceptor drum 1, the scanning optical device 300, a development machine 4, and the transfer belt 10, the scanning optical device 300 is arranged below the transfer belt 10 and a casing of the scanning optical device 300 is so arranged that approximately the entire side in the direction of the transfer belt 10 opens and a floor surface of the casing of the scanning optical device 300 is arranged with a rotation shaft of a rotary polyhedral mirror 303 attached to an optical deflector 304 toward the opened side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
