METHOD FOR DETECTING DISCONNECTION OF ENCODER, DISCONNECTION DETECTOR OF ENCODER, AND POWER CONVERTER EQUIPPED WITH IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine disconnection of an encoder when an open collector output encoder is used.

SOLUTION: An encoder power supply, a power supply having a potential higher than that of the encoder power supply, and an overvoltage prevention diode on the encoder side are utilized and when an OUT wire is disconnected, the OUT wire of the encoder has a potential (+Vcc+α) higher than that of the encoder power supply. The potential difference is detected and disconnection of the encoder is detected based on the potential level.
