PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fabricating a turbine engine casing (34) having at least one boss (38). SOLUTION: The method includes a step for forming an engine casing (40) having an outer wall (48), a step for penetrating a casing outer wall and machining a tapered opening portion (46), and a step for machining within a metal plug (42) a tapered portion (44) that has attained such dimension as to fit into the tapered opening portion within the casing outer wall. The method further includes a step for inserting the metal plug into the tapered opening portion within the casing outer wall, and a step for welding the metal plug to the casing.
