PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for base tread that has increased driveability and improved rolling resistance and to provide a tire therefrom. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for base tread comprises (a) 20 to 60 wt.% of polybutadiene rubber including 2.5 to 20 wt.% of 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene crystals, (b) 5 to 80 wt.% of tin-modified polybutadiene rubber that is polymerized with lithium polymerization initiator, tin atom content of 50 to 3,000 ppm and 5 to 50 wt.% of vinyl bond content and (c) 10 to 75 wt.% of rubber other than (a) and (b).
