PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for producing trioxane from formalin. SOLUTION: This method for producing the trioxane from an aqueous solution of the formalin by using a heteropolyacid as a catalyst is characterized by keeping the temperature of a reaction system containing the formalin, heteropolyacid and trioxane at its boiling point, introducing vapor produced by boiling from the reaction system to a distillation column for concentrating and separating the trioxane, using the material quality of a system for concentrating and separating the trioxane from the reaction system and formalin as a material quality having anti-corrosion property against formic acid, and also setting the contact time (t) of the reaction system shown by the following numerical formula as≤2 hr. t=V/F [provided that F: supplied amount of the raw material formalin to the reaction system (L/hr), and V: the volume of the reaction phase (L)].
