PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine valve system component capable of realizing a low friction coefficient without depending on adsorption and reaction of an additive included in lubricating oil when used in a wet condition using the lubricating oil. SOLUTION: The engine valve system component used in the wet condition using the lubricating oil comprises a valve system component main body and an amorphous hard carbon film formed on at least part of a sliding face of the other material relative to the valve system component main body.
