PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for electric components in which the right timing of an open-close action of a contact pin and a rotation action of a latch member can be provided, and in which reduction of the number of the components is possible by abolishing an operation member. SOLUTION: In the IC socket 11 in which at a base part 14 of the socket body 13 to house an IC package, a plurality of contact pins 15 having an elastic piece 15c capable of contacting with and separating from the IC package are arranged and installed and in which a contact part 15d of the elastic piece 15c is contacted and separated by moving a moving member 17, a latch member 28 to press down the IC package housed in the socket body 13 is rotatably installed, the latch member 28 is movably installed between a first position to press the IC package and a second position retreated from a housing and taking out orbit of the IC package, and a pressurizing part 17d to pressure the latch member 28 and to move it to the second position is installed at the moving member 17 when lowered.
