PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent permanent distortion of a charging roller 4, contamination of the surface of a photoreceptor drum 2, and uneven electrification thereof from occurring since an image forming apparatus is left as it is for a long period of time, with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the electrifying roller 4 coming into contact with the surface of the photoreceptor drum 2, and a contact plate 30 coming into contact with the surface of the charging roller 4. The contact plate 30 is arranged so that the charging roller 4 receives reaction force toward the surface of the photoreceptor drum 2 by frictional force between the contact plate 30 and the charging roller 4 when the charging roller 4 is rotated following the rotation of the photoreceptor drum 2.
