PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change setting in the way of printing without taking time and labor for receiving print data again when a change in the setting of printing is required after the print data is rasterized and the printing is started. SOLUTION: Print data received by a data reception section 2 is converted to bitmap data by a data processing section 4 and the printing is performed by a printing control section 9 and a printing engine 10. At that time, the print data is stored in an inner memory device 6 or an outer memory device 7 until the completion of the printing. In the case where an input operation for changing print setting data is carried out from a panel operation section 3 during the printing, when the changed print setting data requires reconversion of the print data to bitmap data, the print data is read from the memory devices 6, 7 to be reconverted to the bitmap data by the data processing section 4, and then the printing is performed.
