The unit has support housing (20) fixed at a bobbin frame arm of a bobbin frame, and a clamping cone (21) enclosed in a tube of a cross wound bobbin, where the cone is rotatable by a support arrangement. A control ring (23) and a rubber ring are provided for pre positioning the cone. The rings ensure that a rotational axis of the cone corresponds to a central axis (26) of the housing, when inserting an empty tube in the frame.
